The assassination of Charlie Kirk was a little over a month ago, but on this National Day of Remembrance, I feel compelled to share the profound and lasting impact he had on my life.

Charlie would have been 32 years old today. In just three decades, he accomplished more than most could in a lifetime.

At only 18, Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA (TPUSA) — an organization dedicated to advancing conservative principles and transforming college and high school campuses across the nation. But he didn’t stop at building a movement. He showed up — debating students face-to-face, engaging with those who disagreed, and defending his beliefs with courage, conviction, and grace.

Those campus debates, many of which were posted online, became more than just viral videos. They were powerful demonstrations of his boldness, intellect, and unwavering Christian faith. And though he was not perfect — as Scripture reminds us, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, ESV) — Charlie sought to live as a reflection of Jesus Christ, pursuing what he felt called to do: bring God’s Word to students across America.

How Charlie Kirk Changed My Life

1. He inspired me to live boldly in my faith.

Charlie’s fearless example challenged me to deepen my relationship with God — to read Scripture daily, to pray with purpose, and to let the Gospel shape every part of my life. His courage taught me that truth must be spoken, even when it’s unpopular. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16, ESV). Charlie lived that truth every single day.

2. He showed me that God can use my voice.

Charlie’s mission — to know God and make Him known — reminded me that I have a role to play in the Great Commission. It’s why I now write this blog: to share the good news of Jesus and encourage others to live for Him. His example taught me that obedience is more important than comfort, and that the Gospel must go forth “in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2, ESV).

3. He motivated me to steward my body and life.

Because of Charlie’s teaching, I started working out more consistently, honoring my body as a temple. His stance against pornography convicted me to turn away from sin and pursue holiness. 4. He encouraged me to pursue marriage and family.

Charlie boldly challenged cultural lies about hookup culture and career-first living. He championed God’s design for marriage and family — and because of that, I’m preparing to marry the love of my life and, Lord willing, raise a family grounded in faith.

5. He reminded me that my political voice matters.

Without Charlie’s example, I might never have believed that my voice mattered in the political sphere. His leadership taught me that Christians must engage in the public square — not for power, but for the preservation of truth.

6. He gave a voice to young Christian Men.

In a culture that often mocks masculinity and undermines faith, Charlie reminded men like me that we are not alone. He made it cool to stand for biblical values and showed the world that the conservative movement is diverse, dynamic, and deeply principled.

More Than a Political Leader

Charlie Kirk was not just a conservative icon — he was a defender of free speech, a champion of civil discourse, and above all, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Even when faced with hostility, he treated his opponents with dignity and respect. His love for people, for this country, and for the Constitution was unmistakable.

Carrying the Torch

I want to live my life the way Charlie did:

• Focused on Christ and reflecting His love and grace in every circumstance.

• Bold in my faith — voting not only at the ballot box but also with how I spend my time and resources.

• Devoted to raising a family grounded in biblical truth.

To honor Charlie Kirk’s legacy, I will strive to be more like him — and in doing so, more like Jesus, whom he followed passionately and wholeheartedly.
